About the Team
DoorDash for Business is building the premier corporate dining and benefits platform helping companies of all sizes feed their teams through industry-leading products and meal programs. Our mission is to become the go-to solution for executives, administrators, and employees who need seamless, high-quality food programs at work. We move fast, operate with an ownership mindset, and are growing new product lines to better serve our corporate customers.
About the Role
As a Senior Associate on the DoorDash for Business Strategy & Operations team, you will help grow and run Self-Serve Meal Manager, our free, self-serve product that automates recurring meals for teams and offices. Because the product is self-serve, growth is product-led: customers find us, sign up, set up a calendar, and decide whether to stay without a sales rep in the loop. Your job is to make every stage of that funnel work better.
- Acquire: Bring new teams in at the top of the funnel, both on the DoorDash platform (merchandising, in-app placements, lifecycle messaging) and off platform (paid, email, and organic channels).
- Activate: Turn sign-ups into first orders through strong onboarding, and find and fix where customers drop off.
- Retain: Keep teams ordering through a reliable, high-quality product experience, and catch the issues that cause churn before customers leave.
This is a role for someone versatile who will wear many hats: analyst, growth operator, customer-facing problem solver, and product partner. You will be expected to find a problem in the data, work out why it is happening, and drive the fix yourself. The role is built to grow. As the product scales, so will your scope and ownership.
You will report to the Manager, Strategy & Operations for DoorDash for Business and can work remotely or hybrid depending on preference.
Responsibilities
- Own the funnel: Analyze the self-serve funnel end to end, from visitor to sign-up to activation to repeat ordering. Find where customers drop off and run experiments on acquisition channels, onboarding, selection, and promotions to lift conversion and retention.
- Go deep on the data: Write SQL daily to size problems, segment customers, measure lift, and tell a real result from noise. Build the dashboards and automated checks that let a small team support a growing customer base.
- Work directly with customers: Email customers, resolve issues, and run proactive outreach to teams that are stuck, at risk, or churned. Hear first-hand why people stay and why they leave.
- Turn issues into patterns: Translate individual customer problems into trends, then flag them to product and engineering with a clear call on severity backed by metric impact.
- Improve reliability: Root cause order defects such as late deliveries, point of sale issues, and failed drop-offs. Work with merchants, Dashers, and support partners on fixes and track the impact on quality metrics.
- Use AI to scale: Build AI-assisted workflows that flag at-risk customers, orders, and merchants, and replace slow manual analysis and one-off fixes with repeatable processes the team can maintain.
- Influence the roadmap: Bring customer, merchant, and order data to product, engineering, and operations partners as clear recommendations.
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience in strategy and operations or growth, ideally at a marketplace company, a high-growth B2B startup, or an early-stage AI company.
- Deeply analytical with fluent SQL skills, comfortable with large datasets, able to get to a root cause and turn complexity into a clear recommendation.
- Experience running growth or conversion experiments and ability to distinguish real lift from noise.
- Hungry to learn and quick to pick up new domains, tools, and skills. Versatile and happy to switch between analysis, customer conversations, and process building.
- Comfortable in customer-facing work: writing clear emails, handling frustrated customers, and resolving issues with empathy and ownership.
- Product mindset: able to spot patterns across customer issues, judge urgency, and make the case to product partners.
- Extremely comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar in daily work to automate workflows, analyze data, and make faster decisions.
- Owns problems end to end, from diagnosis to testing to rollout, and is comfortable building processes in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Communicates with clarity and influence, tailoring messages for customers, merchants, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.
