Role Description
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will envision and build new components and frameworks in distributed filesystems within an ever-growing market. You will design and develop production-ready code used by millions of users on the cloud platform, and build efficient components and algorithms in a microservice multi-tenant SaaS cloud distributed filesystem environment.
Job Duties
- •Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs
- •Update software or enhance existing software capabilities
- •Contribute to scrum team success through code reviews, deployment process automation, documentation, refinement, planning, and retros
- •Lead, collaborate, communicate, and mentor others on the team and across the company
- •Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a roadmap meeting shared business goals
- •Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system scalability, robustness, and availability
- •Troubleshoot issues with services the team develops and owns
- •Participate in the team on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly available
- •Create, maintain, and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members
Required Skills
- •8+ years of software development experience with mastery in systems design and programming languages
- •Deep knowledge of designing distributed filesystems in both on-prem and cloud environments
- •Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages including Java and Python
- •Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Trino
- •Experience developing SaaS products over public cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or GCP
- •Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale
- •Proficiency in queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution
- •Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- •Strong understanding of software development best practices and demonstrated leadership skills
Preferred Skills
- •Design patterns and experience with Big Data and ML
- •Hands-on experience with S3
- •Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka
- •Experience with Elasticsearch
- •Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker
- •Experience working in a high-paced and rapidly growing multinational organization
Compensation
The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 to $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas, the base salary range is $207,800 to $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
