About the Team
At GrabFin, we empower the people of Southeast Asia by ensuring financial inclusion for the underserved. The Insurance Operations team in Malaysia supports Insurance products and owns Accounting, Reports, Internal Tools, and Third-Party Integration domains for insurance products.
About the Role
You will report to the Engineering Manager, Insurance Operations, based in Malaysia and develop backend systems powering accounting, reporting, and third-party integrations for insurance products. You will work on BNM regulatory reporting capabilities and local partnership integrations.
This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.
Responsibilities
- •Develop high-quality and scalable backend applications for accounting, reporting, and integration services
- •Build and maintain third-party integrations (ISM, APAD, JPJ) for regulatory compliance
- •Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problems
- •Collaborate with diverse teams to design and ship new features
- •Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
- •Troubleshoot, debug complex issues, and provide quick resolutions
- •Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
- •Participate in On-Call rotations to ensure service reliability
Requirements
- •4+ years of relevant experience in software development
- •Proficiency in Java (preferred) and/or Golang
- •Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Git
- •Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
- •Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
- •Experience with clean architecture principles and SOLID principles
- •Experience with financial or regulatory systems is a plus
