Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer, Back End to join the Marketing and Messaging organization. This team focuses on engineering hyper-personalized, high-impact consumer experiences across omnichannel platforms, building scalable platforms that deliver omnichannel messages to customers and prospects.
This role is for engineers passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies and driving major transformation within Capital One.
What You'll Do
•Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs
•Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities
•Mentor other members of the engineering community and evaluate or contribute code as needed
•Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans
•Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala
•Work with open source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
•At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
•At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
•Master's Degree
•9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
•3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
•4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
•1+ years of people management experience
•2+ years of experience in Agile practices
•Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion
Compensation
•McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400
•New York, NY: $250,800 - $286,200
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long term incentives. Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
