Job Description
Strategic Program Manager role responsible for executing cross-functional initiatives for a new managed business. The position involves translating strategic priorities into structured plans, coordinating complex workstreams, managing dependencies and risks, and driving programs from planning through delivery. The role requires strong program management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority. This is a remote position based in the United States or Canada with competitive compensation and opportunities for career growth.
Overview
The Strategic Program Manager will play a pivotal role in executing cross-functional initiatives that support the growth of a new managed business. The role combines rigorous program management with strategic thinking, business curiosity, and sound judgment. This is a remote position available anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Responsibilities
•Lead complex, cross-functional programs from planning through delivery, establishing clear scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, owners, dependencies, and success metrics.
•Coordinate multiple workstreams and functions, actively managing interdependencies, blockers, risks, and unresolved decisions to maintain momentum.
•Contribute to PMO practices across managed business initiatives by applying consistent frameworks, tools, methodologies, and reporting standards.
•Pressure-test plans, assumptions, dependencies, and tradeoffs to ensure initiatives are focused on meaningful business outcomes rather than task completion alone.
•Bring clarity to ambiguous and evolving business-model decisions, proactively identifying misalignment and facilitating the conversations required to resolve it.
•Support prioritization and sequencing of initiatives based on business impact, timelines, resource availability, and organizational priorities.
•Facilitate executive readouts, working sessions, follow-ups, escalations, and other communications needed to maintain alignment and accountability.
•Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority, using credibility, relationship-building, and sound judgment to drive commitments and outcomes.
•Develop and maintain program plans, tracking mechanisms, status reports, and other execution artifacts.
•Identify risks early and drive appropriate resolution while maintaining a strong focus on execution quality, timelines, and measurable results.
•Continuously improve program management processes, tools, and team effectiveness as the business scales.
Requirements
•8 to 10 or more years of experience in program management, project management, or cross-functional program leadership.
•Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to establish structure and maintain momentum across several initiatives simultaneously.
•Demonstrated ability to identify risks, resolve blockers, and drive decisions in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
•Experience developing and maintaining program plans, tracking tools, status reporting, and execution frameworks.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into concise executive updates and actionable briefings.
•Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and hold teams accountable without direct authority.
•Strategic mindset combined with strong execution discipline, business curiosity, attention to detail, and a bias toward measurable outcomes.
