Bombardier is seeking a Senior/Lead Aerospace Development Program Manager to lead complex aircraft development programs. The role requires technical credibility to manage engineering, certification, suppliers, finance, and stakeholders through the entire aircraft lifecycle from design to certification and delivery. This is a technical leadership position rather than a traditional schedule-focused project management role, requiring extensive aerospace/defense experience, engineering credentials, and expertise in FAA certification processes.
Overview
Bombardier is seeking a Senior Aerospace Development Program Manager to lead complex aircraft development programs. This is not a traditional project management role focused primarily on schedules. The successful candidate must be a technically credible program leader capable of integrating the entire aircraft development effort and driving the program from technical definition through certification and customer delivery.
Responsibilities
•Lead complex aircraft development programs across engineering, certification, suppliers, finance, customers, and executive stakeholders
•Drive programs from technical definition and design through certification and customer delivery
•Provide technical leadership and credibly challenge engineering organizations
•Manage program schedule, cost, risk, technical performance, suppliers, certification, and delivery
•Lead cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority
•Engage directly with executive, government, military, or high-value aircraft customers
•Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance for the program
•Work within or alongside an FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) environment
Requirements
•10+ years of aerospace and/or defense experience, ideally supporting aircraft development programs
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline
•Technical depth sufficient to credibly lead and challenge engineering organizations
•Aircraft development and certification experience, particularly 14 CFR Part 25
•Experience working in or alongside an FAA ODA environment
