Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems, public safety software, and mobile video with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of these mission critical systems for Government and Public Safety customers.

Role Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of Mobile Video solutions and will act as the leader and focal point for all aspects of assigned projects. The PM is responsible for delivering contractual scope on schedule and within budget while maintaining customer satisfaction. The PM is also responsible for the overall pre-tax profit of all projects.

Responsibilities

• •Direct and coordinate the work activities of the project team
• •Demonstrate awareness of all nine areas of PMBOK project management, PRINCE2, or applicable PM standard with a firm understanding of at least two areas
• •Maintain knowledge of at least one major project phase and serve as a major contributor to the development of the project plan
• •Utilize PM tools including schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, and action item logs to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions
• •Allocate all necessary resources to meet project objectives, corporate financial goals, and customer satisfaction goals
• •Conduct direct communication with customer organizations and relevant senior stakeholders internally through project reviews throughout the life of the project
• •Contribute to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives
• •Prepare reports for upper management regarding project status

Preferred Skills

• •Strong presentation and negotiating skills
• •PMP certification highly preferred
• •Knowledge of mobile video technology including wireless and LTE infrastructure, policy and procedures for retention, redaction, and chain of custody, evidence management software and workflow
• •Self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives

Additional Requirements

• •Travel requirement is 25% (note: listed elsewhere as over 50%)
• •Remote position; candidates should be located in the Midwest, South, or Southeast regions
• •This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and requires successfully passing a stringent fingerprint background check

Compensation

Target Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $88,000 USD. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
