Overview

Deloitte is looking for motivated students finalising their studies or recent graduates to join their AI & Data Team as an AI Strategy & Governance Trainee in Helsinki. The 4-month trainee period is set to begin in January 2027, with the goal of retaining as many trainees as possible after the period concludes.

Role

As an AI Strategy & Governance Trainee, you will be a valued part of the team in varied client assignments where AI and data is utilized in decision making. Your tasks can include:

• •Finding out customer business needs and conducting workshops on AI use cases that support them
• •Analyzing the maturity level of customers' current AI governance and AI utilization capability
• •Developing strategies for organizations to become AI-driven and scale AI across the organization
• •Developing the AI governance operating model
• •Helping to develop the target state for customers' AI, data, and technology capabilities
• •Understanding the practical considerations of designing and implementing AI solutions responsibly

Based on your background you can also contribute to data analysis, data engineering, data visualization, data wrangling, and AI implementation tasks, as well as get to know agile ways of working.

What We Hope From You

To succeed in this role, we wish you have:

• •A recent master's degree or ongoing master studies from a relevant field such as information and knowledge management, AI strategy, data strategy, economics, computer science, or industrial engineering and management
• •Understanding of business strategy and how it connects to the utilization of AI and data, along with general interest in technology, problem solving, and negotiation skills
• •Some hands-on experience with AI solutions, for example through developing, testing, or working with an AI or machine learning solution
• •Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and translate complex AI and data topics into clear business language
• •Enthusiasm to work with others, both with colleagues and clients
• •Drive to develop management consulting skills and strategic thinking
• •Fluent oral and written skills in both English and Finnish

The following are not required but would be considered a strong advantage:

• •Previous work experience from a similar position or consultative capacity
• •Experience working with AI platforms and tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML services, or GCP Vertex AI
• •Participation in AI or data-related projects or personal initiatives that demonstrate hands-on curiosity for AI solutions

Prerequisites

• •You must currently be allowed to work in Finland, holding a valid residence permit if required.
