Overview
The CNBC International HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive operational HR support across the CNBC International business. This includes knowledge of all HR Coordinator level responsibilities to support and guide the HR Coordinator in the team, in addition to partnering with business managers across specific areas of the Employee Lifecycle and leading some projects. The role reports into the HR Director and works closely with the HR Team in CNBC London and Singapore.
The objective of the role is to provide excellent HR support to the business in an efficient and customer-focused way, operating at all levels of the business across the core employee lifecycle and organisational management.
Key Responsibilities
Systems and Processes
- •Maintain and update HR systems (SAP, MyMobility, Workday, E-days) including all actions from new hires, leavers, merit increases, employment changes and leaves
- •Assist and support in the leavers process
- •Work with the Reward team to obtain accurate benchmarking information for headcount requests
- •Update Global Mobility on changes to passport documentation and company sponsored visa details and ensure immigration procedures are followed
- •Support employees and HR community members to self-serve using HR technology
Payroll and Benefits
- •Input monthly payroll changes into HR systems and payroll excel sheets
- •Work closely with Payroll to ensure employment changes are processed accurately on a monthly basis
- •Run monthly payroll reports
- •Administer employee benefits
Attract
- •Ensure accurate job descriptions are available, roles are benchmarked, and full business approval is in place
- •Work with the Talent Acquisition team to guide Hiring Managers through the recruitment and selection process, including occasionally conducting competency-based interviews
- •Work closely with hiring managers to ensure candidates have a consistent onboarding experience
- •Manage employee background checks, ensuring completion and recording on HRIS
- •Prepare contracts and amendment letters for new and existing staff; ensure induction pack and offer letter materials are current
- •Create employee accounts in HRIS database and issue SSO numbers to Managers prior to start dates
- •Own the relationship with Handle (or relevant provider) to ensure compliant engagement of freelancers
Employee Relations
- •Act as the first line of support for HR queries and provide detailed support for straightforward employee relations cases
- •Organise and maintain the filing system for current staff and leavers
- •Provide support on external queries such as mortgage and other employee reference requests
- •Provide operational support for restructure and redundancy processes, including HR partnering in consultation meetings and execution of settlement agreements
- •Serve as the key contact for maternity and paternity employees ensuring the process is followed
Learning and Development
- •Support the HR team to drive key initiatives including performance management, succession planning, annual surveys and employee communications
- •Act as a brand ambassador for CNBC and Versant development offerings and respond to queries regarding those offerings
Other
- •Use HR technology to provide reports and data to HR and business leaders
- •Work closely with the HR team in APAC to ensure a consistent approach across CNBC International
- •Actively participate in and lead HR projects and process improvements as required
- •Complete government surveys where necessary
- •Check and process HR invoices
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- •CIPD qualified (desirable but not essential)
- •Solid experience across the HR generalist spectrum
- •Experience of managing employee relations activity independently
- •Proven operational HR experience with a good working knowledge of HR practices and procedures, preferably within a large, matrix organisation
- •Significant experience of undertaking transactional HR administrative work, including data entry into HR systems with strong attention to detail
- •Working knowledge and experience in SAP and payroll input with an ability to produce and analyse reports
- •Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- •Ability to multi-task and be flexible
- •Demonstrated ability to assess internal practices and implement new approaches to improve department efficiency
- •High attention to detail and a methodical approach
- •Excellent organisation and time management skills
- •Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- •Adaptable, collaborative and open style with the ability to navigate a complex matrix organisation across multiple international territories
