Job Description
The Sales Factory is seeking a Controller to manage day-to-day financial operations for their B2B outsourced sales company. The role involves bookkeeping, payroll management through Ceridian Dayforce, month-end closes, financial modeling, and coordination with a fractional CFO. This is a hands-on individual contributor position with no direct reports but significant growth potential, working with modern accounting tools like QuickBooks/Xero.
About The Sales Factory
The Sales Factory is a technology-enabled B2B outsourced sales and revenue infrastructure company headquartered in Toronto. Ranked #1 in Canada and #2 globally on G2 for outsourced sales, the company operates in 13 languages and serves clients ranging from scale-ups to S&P 500 companies and governments.
The company is a fast-moving, profitable business of 80-100 people across Canada and the US, with finance sitting at the center of how the business is run.
The Role
The Controller will own the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with no direct reports currently, but with real ownership from day one and room to grow. The role serves as the finance engine of the business: closing the books, owning payroll end to end within Ceridian Dayforce, keeping cash flowing, and building out the financial model alongside advisors.
The company is actively automating AP and billing workflows in QuickBooks/Xero, and the Controller will help drive that modernization.
What You'll Do
•Own day-to-day financial operations in QuickBooks or Xero: bookkeeping, invoicing, A/R, A/P, and bill processing
•Help drive automation of AP and billing workflows
•Own payroll end to end within Ceridian Dayforce, including new hires, terminations, deductions, benefits, off-cycle runs, employer taxes, and remittances across Canadian and US entities
•Manage month-end close and keep financials accurate and audit-ready
•Handle filings, audit documentation, and finance-side client onboarding such as banking info requests and vendor forms
•Rebuild and maintain the financial model from the ground up with input from advisors
•Coordinate with the fractional CFO on higher-level reporting and financial planning
•Take on ad-hoc projects across finance and operations as the company grows
What We're Looking For
•5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience
•CPA or CA designation strongly preferred
•Currently at a Senior Manager of Accounting, Assistant Controller, or similar level, ready to step into a Controller seat
•Ability to run payroll start to finish independently within Ceridian Dayforce with no ramp-up time needed on the platform
•Exceptional attention to detail
•Smart, fast, and curious with the ability to figure things out without a playbook
•Tech-savvy and comfortable with modern accounting and automation tools including QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, and Google Sheets
•Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor with direct exposure to the CEO and fractional CFO
•Experience in a services or agency business is a plus
•Cross-border Canada/US exposure is a plus
Why This Role
•Full ownership of the finance function at a profitable, growing company
•Direct exposure to the CEO, fractional CFO, and external advisors
•Clear growth path as a build-and-grow seat, not a maintenance job
•Modern stack, real automation, and no legacy bureaucracy
