Overview
Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Program Manager I to oversee multiple projects supporting business objectives within the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area. This role focuses on customer relationships, cost management, scheduling, and technical execution for programs with budgets up to $20M.
The MST business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide, supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.
Responsibilities
•Manage all programmatic aspects of multiple assigned projects, focusing on customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning
•Track and report on project status, technical execution, and overall program performance
•Supervise program and project staff to ensure successful project outcomes
•Serve as the primary point of contact for customers
•Participate in business resource planning and tracking in coordination with other corporate entities
•Formulate and lead a team to fulfill program requirements
•Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems
•Manage program risks and opportunities by identifying, mitigating, tracking, and managing them
•Interface on project/program status and develop proposals
•Conduct research and fact-finding for project/program needs
•Coordinate audits and negotiate with project/program stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints
•Support the Program Director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities for the Business Area
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field; or 9+ years of related experience in lieu of degree
•6+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace and Defense industry
•1+ years experience leading cross-functional teams of 3 or more members
•Experience evaluating requests for proposals and/or quotes, and preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals
•Experience with contract negotiations and understanding of contract types
•Experience managing multiple projects and/or a small program
•Experience serving as primary customer focal point
•Demonstrated financial acumen for fiscally sound decision-making
•Ability to execute program integration management including task coordination, resource development, and stakeholder identification
•Capability to manage program lifecycle conflicts and prioritize competing priorities
•Leadership skills including change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, accountability, and performance reviews
•Skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, and strategic thinking
Preferred Qualifications
•Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
•Advanced degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field
•Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
•Working knowledge of PMI Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
•Experience managing projects using CMMI, agile, or spiral development models
•Familiarity with Earned Value Management
•Understanding of application tools and data architectures
•Experience ensuring compliance with Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes
Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
