National Client Executive position responsible for managing relationships with large national clients (2000+ lives) in the Southeast region. The role focuses on client retention, cross-selling, and strategy development for top-tier accounts in disability, life, and leave management. Responsibilities include developing client strategies, managing renewals, negotiating complex agreements, and ensuring customer satisfaction while leveraging service capabilities to drive profitable growth.
Overview
The National Client Executive is accountable for all aspects of the customer experience with assigned national clients and for managing and owning the overall client relationship. As the lead of a team of professionals, they will deliver on promises, fully leverage service capabilities to exceed expectations, and problem solve for custom client needs. They will review financial metrics, retention, and growth of the assigned block. Typical group size is 2000+ lives.
This role serves as a subject matter expert regarding Disability, Life, FML, State Leaves, Company Leaves (Paid and Unpaid), and ADA.
Retention and Cross Selling
•Drives the client renewal strategy for premier client base, with input from sales and/or practice leaders
•Provides comprehensive service and directly assists in profitably growing the company's top consulting base
•Leads finalist meetings typically with large teams, navigating complex solution discussions
•Proactively identifies and executes cross sell opportunities across additional lines of business
•Manages merger and divesture activities with clients to ensure smooth transitions
•Manages and negotiates complex performance guarantees
•Drives client conversations around potential downstream effects of certain changes to plan
•Achieves or exceeds assigned metrics such as service, client persistency, implementations, and customer satisfaction
Strategy Development
•Develops an effective, efficient strategy and workflow for growing the existing book of business
•Develops and manages annual client strategies to ensure persistency and profitable growth
•Interprets and delivers client data in relationship to benchmark data
•Provides suggested strategies for the client's future based on client data and industry trends, typically requiring a high level of customization
•Works closely with the Regional Sales Office, Implementation Manager, and internal support resources to develop effective strategies for new and existing business
Process and Relationship Management
•Manages high level relationships with client and broker decision-makers
•Achieves or exceeds assigned metrics for client persistency, new customer/product implementations, and customer satisfaction
•Works effectively with all functional departments to implement new business and prepares for renewal situations
•Performs deep analysis of raw data to identify trends and create solutions
•Develops ad-hoc and customized reporting for top brokers and clients
•Provides support to clients for system changes including HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems, typically at a high level of complexity
Compensation
The expected hiring range for this position is $94,090.00 - $125,610.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Atlanta, GA). This range covers only base pay and excludes commissions or incentive awards. Starting base pay will be based on work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
