Overview
Humana's Enterprise Architecture Activation unit is seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect to leverage technology and business strategy to deliver improved member experiences and health outcomes to Humana's 26 million members. The unit's mission is to deliver a perfect member experience by aligning business strategy to technology strategy, enabling effective and efficient execution of the technology strategy, and facilitating adoption of Humana Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, policies and methodologies.
Role
As a Lead Enterprise Architect, you play a pivotal role in the alignment of the business vision, technology strategy and the IT portfolio execution. As the business's advocate in IT, you will bring business leadership, business operations, project management, IT leadership, IT architecture and engineering together to a common understanding of what it takes to deliver the business vision. You will be an integral part of the delivery of critical business outcomes, as well as the creation of technology strategies to leverage the IT portfolio to improve member experience and health outcomes, create competitive advantages, reduce operational risk, and total cost of operations. You will also provide mentorship and guidance to other enterprise, solution, technology and system architects across Humana. This role reports to a Director, Enterprise Architecture.
Responsibilities
•Serve as a strong advocate for the business within IT
•Ensure that technology execution aligns with business strategy
•Help achieve value-driven outcomes by ensuring Humana's Technology Strategy is executed in alignment with corporate vision and segment business strategies
•Engage in enterprise technology modernization initiatives working with application teams and key business and IT stakeholders
•Create artifacts and conditions necessary for effective demand management, prioritization of delivery, and capacity planning to drive execution of the technology strategy
•Continuously study and gain in-depth understanding of health care payer industry best practices, innovation, technologies and trends
•Serve as an evangelist for and drive adoption of the lean enterprise architecture practice within an agile delivery framework
•Collaborate with business and technical teams to align and map business vision and strategy to value streams, business capabilities and business functions
•Collaborate with segment and solution architects, engineers, and leadership to document current state architecture, value streams and domain capability models
•Apply portfolio rationalization to map coverage between Value Streams, Business Capabilities, and Technology Capabilities and identify opportunities for innovation and risk reduction
•Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to define and maintain technology strategies, including intermediate and end state architectures
•Create, catalog, maintain and deliver documentation and artifacts describing enterprise architecture principles, standards, policies and methodologies
•Deliver an entry point, filter, path and guidance for successfully navigating the architecture governance process
•Enable continued innovation and evolution of cloud everything-as-a-service including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS platforms
•Evaluate new technologies and platforms for continuous improvement and develop architecture standards to leverage them
•Provide thought leadership by bringing outside-in perspective to key technology decisions
•Define technical standards and ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise reference architecture standards, patterns and best practices
•Prototype tools and technologies to evaluate early design decisions, improve predictability and reduce risk
•Choose and adeptly use appropriate cloud services, technologies, tools, methodologies and solutions to ensure architecture is robust, integrated and aligned with long-term objectives
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
•Progressive experience as a senior architect or technical lead in large IT projects spanning multiple enterprise systems
•10 or more years of design, development, and testing of software applications
•Expert knowledge and experience with architecture patterns for enterprise integration, system decomposition, refactoring and cloud migration
•Expert knowledge and experience with cloud native architectures on at least one cloud platform provider in an enterprise environment
•Expert knowledge and experience with highly available, fault tolerant and event driven architectures at scale
•Expert knowledge and experience with Enterprise Architecture, technical strategy, and technology roadmaps
•Expert knowledge and experience with lean-agile delivery methodologies in an enterprise environment
•Expert knowledge and experience with Health Care Business Domains including Medicare, Medicaid, Group, Specialty, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
•Master's Degree
•Associate or Professional level solution architecture certification in Azure, GCP or AWS
•1-3 years of experience in Cloud, AI technologies or Enterprise Architecture
•2 or more years of project leadership and consulting experience
Location and Compensation
•Remote US position; occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required
•Pay range: $142,300 - $195,700 per year
•Eligible for bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance
