Job Description

A 12-month fixed-term Project Officer position at the University of Sydney's Charles Perkins Centre focused on transforming the research centre's digital presence. The role involves developing and delivering engaging content across digital, social media, website and video channels, implementing digital strategy, managing website content, monitoring analytics, and identifying emerging communication trends.

Overview

The University of Sydney is seeking a Project Officer, Digital Communications to join the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), a globally prestigious multidisciplinary initiative dedicated to tackling society's greatest health challenges in diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and other related conditions.

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for 12 months located at the Charles Perkins Centre, Camperdown Campus. Base salary is $107,312 - $115,686 (HEO6) plus 17% superannuation, with the possibility of extension subject to funding and business needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and digitally savvy communications professional to help shape and deliver the Centre's digital and social media strategy during a period of strategic transformation. You will work closely with the Communications Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Academic Director and key stakeholders across the Centre to develop engaging content, strengthen digital engagement, and identify innovative opportunities across a broad range of communication publication styles, including social media, web, video and emerging platforms. A key focus of the role is reviewing and uplifting the Centre's digital communications approach as part of a broader strategic refresh.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and deliver engaging content across digital, social media, website and video channels
•Support the review and implementation of the Centre's digital and social media strategy
•Coordinate and maintain website and intranet content to ensure accuracy and relevance
•Produce high-quality communications for internal and external audiences across multiple platforms
•Monitor analytics, audience engagement and content performance to inform continuous improvement
•Identify emerging trends, technologies and content formats that enhance digital engagement and reach

About You

•A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience
•Experience producing engaging digital and social media content for diverse audiences
•Strong understanding of digital communications, social media trends and audience engagement strategies
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
•Experience using content management systems, digital platforms and analytics tools
•Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, a diverse group of key stakeholders and build strong working relationships
•Previous experience within a large multifaceted organisation and/or a research organisation is highly desirable but not essential
