Overview
Canva is looking for a Türkiye Community Manager to own the health, engagement, and growth of its communities in Türkiye. This is a full-time contingent worker opportunity for a 12-month engagement, based in Istanbul in a hybrid capacity at Kolektif House in Levent.
About the Team
Canva's International Supergroup brings together marketers, strategists and growth leaders focused on expanding Canva's presence in key global markets. Within the EMEA Expansion Group, the Türkiye team works across Marketing, Growth, Product, Content, Sales and Localisation to help Canva become a truly local brand — from nationwide campaigns through to meaningful connections with educators, creators and the creative economy.
Role Summary
As Canva's Türkiye Community Manager, you'll own three community pillars: Educators, Creators, and SMBs. You'll keep established Educator and Creator communities deeply engaged and advocating for Canva, onboard new Creators and Canvassadors aligned to Türkiye's strategic priorities, and launch the SMB community from the ground up.
This is a pure community marketing role requiring genuine community management expertise — someone who has run large, active communities at scale, knows how to design engagement rituals that last, and can read community health in both the data and the room.
Key Responsibilities
- •Own community programs: lead the day-to-day running and longer-term engagement of Canva's Educator and Creator communities in Türkiye, helping established member bases stay active, valued and connected.
- •Grow the Creator pipeline: identify, recruit and onboard Creators aligned with Türkiye's content priorities, ensuring locally produced content is culturally relevant and on-brand.
- •Grow the Canvassador community: bring new advocates into the program, equip them to deliver local activations, and create an ongoing sense of belonging and motivation.
- •Build the SMB community: help launch the community from the ground up, establishing its strategy, channels and rituals and welcoming its first cohort of small business owners.
- •Create engaging community experiences: develop design challenges, tutorials, webinars, community content, live events and member spotlights.
- •Bring communities together online and offline: plan and deliver meetups, workshops, webinars and community moments at relevant events across Türkiye.
- •Understand community health: track engagement, activity, retention and content performance, using insights to continuously improve community programs.
- •Work across Canva: partner with the Türkiye Country Manager, Marketing Lead, Education Growth Lead and Content Strategy Lead around campaigns, launches and market priorities.
- •Be the voice of the community: surface member feedback and local insights to Canva's product, content and localisation teams and identify cultural moments communities can rally around.
Requirements
- •4+ years managing large, active communities, with a proven track record across the full lifecycle — launching new communities and sustaining engagement at scale.
- •Experience working with creators, designers, educators, or similar passionate audiences, and understanding what motivates volunteer advocates and contributors.
- •High empathy, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to excite and unite a community around new ideas — online and in person.
- •Confident hosting webinars, workshops, and live events.
- •Strategic onboarding mindset: recruiting and onboarding new members deliberately, tied to content gaps, campaign needs, and market priorities.
- •Comfortable with community and content data; able to turn engagement metrics into program improvements and report clearly against KPIs.
- •Experienced with community platforms such as Facebook Groups, Discord, Circle or similar.
- •Experienced with marketing and productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Monday, HubSpot or equivalents.
- •Fluent in written and spoken Turkish and English, with strong writing skills.
- •Genuinely excited by Canva's mission and an active user of the product.
