We are seeking a Senior Sensor Simulation Engineer to lead the development of highly accurate sensor models that help bridge the gap between virtual testing and real-world performance.
This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who combines deep expertise in sensor physics with strong C++ software engineering skills. You will influence technical strategy, develop next-generation simulation capabilities, and work closely with engineering, product, and research teams to advance state-of-the-art sensor modeling.

What You'll Do
•Lead the technical direction for next-generation sensor simulation capabilities with a focus on radar systems
•Design, develop, and validate high-fidelity sensor models using modern C++
•Develop simulation models for radar phenomena including RF propagation, Doppler effects, multipath behavior, antenna characteristics, and environmental interactions
•Contribute to simulation capabilities across additional sensing technologies such as LiDAR, thermal imaging, and electro-optical systems
•Establish validation methodologies that compare simulation output against measured sensor data
•Analyze model performance and continuously improve simulation fidelity using quantitative metrics
•Model challenging environmental conditions including weather, visibility, and complex operating scenarios
•Collaborate with perception, machine learning, and software engineering teams to improve simulation realism and product capabilities
•Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers working on sensor simulation technologies
•Research emerging technologies, scientific literature, and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate innovation
•Partner with product and engineering leadership to define long-term technical strategy and product direction
Required Qualifications
•Strong background in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
•Professional experience developing sensor simulation, computational physics, or scientific software
•Deep expertise in radar systems, RF propagation, signal processing, or electromagnetic modeling
•Strong understanding of one or more sensing modalities including radar, LiDAR, thermal imaging, or electro-optical systems
•Experience validating simulation or computational models against real-world measurement data
•Strong C++ software engineering skills with experience developing performance-sensitive applications
•Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence architectural and technical direction
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, research, and product teams
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience developing low-level radar simulation or signal processing models
•Background in thermal imaging, infrared sensing, or radiometric modeling
•Experience building commercial simulation software or sensor modeling platforms
•Experience with real-time rendering engines or graphics pipelines
•Experience with GPU computing, ray tracing, or high-performance simulation
•Background in autonomous systems, robotics, aerospace, or advanced sensing technologies
•Experience using Python for scientific computing, automation, or tooling

•Base Salary: $155,000 - $175,000 commensurate with experience
