Job Description
Leidos is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Program Manager to lead manufacturing strategy and execution for their Hypersonics Portfolio within the Defense Sector. The role serves as the primary interface between Hypersonics Program leadership and the Manufacturing organization, requiring oversight of cross-site integration, manufacturing performance, budget coordination, and stakeholder communication. This position requires 15+ years of experience with complex project management, earned value management, and CAM experience, along with US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Overview
Leidos is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Program Manager (MPM) to support its growing Hypersonics Portfolio within the Defense Sector. This role helps shape manufacturing strategy and execution for critical national defense programs. The position serves as the primary interface between Hypersonics Program leadership and the Leidos Manufacturing organization, reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. Occasional travel may be required. The role is based in the Huntsville/North Alabama area.
Primary Responsibilities
Manufacturing Program Management and Leadership
•Serve as the main connection between Hypersonics Program leadership and Manufacturing
•Lead the Hypersonics manufacturing integration team
•Support proposal and capture efforts for new or emerging opportunities
Manufacturing Planning and Execution
•Perform as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for manufacturing and test scope
•Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, including non-recurring planning elements
•Partner with site leaders and functional managers to create Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for manufacturing, testing, and supporting activities
Cost, Schedule and Performance Management
•Coordinate budgets with Program and Manufacturing finance teams to ensure alignment and capacity planning
•Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance across multiple manufacturing sites
•Use earned value management principles and KPIs to drive performance
•Provide variance analysis, rationale, and corrective actions when required
Communication and Reporting
•Maintain recurring cross-site reviews to assess progress and address issues
•Provide clear manufacturing and testing updates to Program leadership
•Ensure a consistent and transparent communication path between Program office and Manufacturing
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 13+ years of experience
Pay Range: $139,100.00 - $251,450.00. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
