Catalent is seeking a Project Manager for their San Diego, CA early-phase development facility to manage client projects from initiation through completion. The role involves serving as the primary client contact, establishing timelines, organizing meetings, forecasting project completion dates, identifying business opportunities, and building strong client and internal team relationships. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science (preferably scientific field), 3+ years in an industry or scientific environment, and 1+ year in a client-facing position. The salary range is $92,000-$102,000 annually with comprehensive benefits.
About the Site
Catalent's San Diego, CA site is an early-phase development facility supporting small-molecule and peptide programs from preformulation through cGMP clinical manufacturing for oral and injectable dosage forms. The 68,000-square-foot site is a center of excellence for spray-drying and bioavailability-enhancement technologies, with integrated capabilities to advance challenging compounds rapidly into the clinic.
Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team and lead client projects from initiation to completion. In this role, you will ensure timelines are met, maintain strong client relationships, and support internal teams to deliver high-quality results. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, driving communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities
•Manage projects, including key accounts, across multiple business lines or sites as assigned.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and address questions and observations.
•Establish project timelines, monitor actions, and ensure milestones are achieved.
•Organize and lead meetings with clients and internal teams, set agendas, and provide meeting minutes.
•Notify milestone completions and forecast accurate project phase completion dates for billing.
•Obtain resupply forecasts and identify new business opportunities during project lifecycle.
•Assist sales team with scope definition for resupply and new business opportunities.
•Review signed proposals for accuracy and initiate scope change requests as needed.
•Assist in reviewing proposals and scope changes before client distribution.
•Plan, organize, and lead client development or manufacturing observation visits and project kick-off meetings.
•Assist in organizing business review meetings and prospective client visits.
•Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams to instill trust and confidence.
•Assist in training new employees in the project management team.
Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science required; degree in a scientific field preferred.
•3+ years in an industry or scientific environment.
•1+ year in a client-facing position, project management role preferred.
•Technological proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Internet.
•Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position in CA is $92,000 to $102,000 annually. The final salary offered may vary based on experience, skillset, education, and business needs.
