Job Description
Big Potato, a UK-based games company, is hiring a Senior Ecommerce Manager to lead their ecommerce operations across Amazon, TikTok, Shopify, Walmart, and Target. The role involves managing a team of two Ecommerce Managers, owning revenue and profit targets, optimizing marketplace performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Performance Marketing, Operations, and Finance. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of Amazon ecommerce experience, strong commercial and analytical skills, people management experience, and familiarity with ecommerce KPIs.
About Big Potato
Big Potato's purpose is to Light Up the Moments We Share Together. Our games are easy-to-learn, laughter-first games played by millions of people around the world. We're one of the UK's fastest-growing games companies, B-Corp Certified, and scaling globally.
We have a team that's ambitious, creative and committed to making brilliant games. We're bothered about our People, our Customers, our Consumers and the Planet.
The Role
You'll own the day-to-day trading of our Amazon, TikTok and Shopify accounts, with a strong focus on forecasting, pricing and margin. You'll lead a team of two Ecommerce Managers, and work closely with Performance Marketing, Operations, Finance and Brand Marketing to keep our ecommerce priorities joined up across the business.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Trading
•Manage and develop two Ecommerce Managers, setting clear priorities and helping them grow from reactive account management into proactive commercial ownership
•Lead our weekly ecommerce trading rhythm, making sure actions get followed through to completion
•Act as the day-to-day escalation point for the team, so routine issues don't need to land on the Ecommerce Director's desk
•Keep improving how the team works, including where AI and automation can help
Commercial Performance
•Own delivery against our ecommerce revenue and profit targets
•Keep a close eye on marketplace and channel performance, spotting opportunities and risks early
•Drive action on key trading metrics: revenue, traffic, conversion, BSR/rank, availability, pricing, profitability and promotions
•Support forecasting, and help shape pricing, margin and promotional strategy with the Ecommerce Director
Amazon, Walmart.com and Target.com
•Oversee commercial and operational performance across our Amazon markets (US, UK, Germany, Canada and beyond)
•Keep marketplace fundamentals — availability, pricing, content, promotions, catalogue health — in great shape
•Coordinate major trading moments like Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Q4
•Support our growing presence on Walmart.com and Target.com, working with the US Retail team on promotional and discount planning
Cross-functional Collaboration
•Partner closely with Performance Marketing, Retail/Sales, Operations/Supply Chain, International Sales, Creative and Finance to keep ecommerce priorities coordinated across the business
What We're Looking For
•Solid experience in Amazon ecommerce (typically around 6+ years)
•Experience managing and developing people
•A track record of owning significant revenue targets
•Strong commercial and analytical skills, with a good understanding of ecommerce KPIs
•Confidence prioritising, making decisions independently, and constructively challenging others
•A proactive, organised and commercially curious approach
•Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to work more effectively
Nice to Have
•Experience with Shopify, TikTok Shop, Walmart or Target
•Experience expanding into new international marketplaces
•Advanced Excel/Sheets or BI tool experience
•A relevant degree (equivalent experience is just as welcome)
Benefits
•Four-day working week
•16 days annual leave plus Bank and Public Holidays
•Enrolment in the Employee Benefit Trust after 12 months (everyone owns a part of Big Potato)
•Free BUPA private healthcare
•Access to the Government Pension Scheme
•£500 annual holiday bonus (pro rata)
•Free fruit, snacks, soft drinks, office wine and beers, tea and coffee
•Discounted gym
•Free monthly yoga
•Monthly paid socials
•Summer and Christmas Party
•Free games
•Cycle to work scheme
•Free eye tests
•Dog friendly office
