Job Description
Lead Graphic Designer position at ASI (Associated Students, Inc.) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Reports to Assistant Coordinator–Marketing. Responsible for creating graphics for promotional, collateral, and digital materials while ensuring brand compliance. Duties include designing print and digital materials, managing project timelines, coordinating with vendors, mentoring other designers, and maintaining ASI/Cal Poly brand standards. Requires current enrollment at Cal Poly, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, typography knowledge, and strong communication skills.
Overview
The Lead Graphic Designer reports to the Assistant Coordinator–Marketing (Creative Operations) at Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), based at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role is responsible for creating and supporting graphics needs for ASI promotional, collateral, and digital materials, while also providing scheduling assistance, reviewing concepts for brand compliance, preparing training materials, and supporting other graphic designers on the team.

Responsibilities
•Prepare graphics for print and digital marketing materials such as fliers, brochures, posters, T-shirts, web advertisements, and social media posts
•Coordinate photography or video graphics as needed for assignments
•Plan and implement print layouts for multi-page publications, integrated marketing campaigns, and individual collateral pieces
•Adhere to established project deadlines and maintain an up-to-date work calendar
•Establish and monitor daily and/or weekly priorities and task lists
•Work with on- and off-campus vendors to obtain quotes, set production timelines, send products to print, check proofs, and receive final products
•Maintain consistent communication with clients to coordinate project details including scheduling, photography or video needs, original artwork creation, and revisions
•Maintain archives of individual project specifications, drafts, and final proofs
•Adhere to ASI style and branding guidelines as well as Cal Poly brand guidelines as required
•Provide leadership and guidance to other graphic designer staff
•Prepare and revise training materials and support the technical needs of other graphic designers
•Conduct inventory of supplies and communicate needs to supervisor
•Attend all mandatory meetings, workshops, and retreats
•Provide quality customer service for all staff and customers
•Maintain awareness of safety concerns and risk management
•Adhere to and enforce all ASI departmental policies and procedures
Compensation and Employment Details
•Hourly Pay Rate: $18.40 per hour
•Requires a minimum of two consecutive terms of work availability
•Employment is at-will
