Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Automation to join the SRE & Automation product portfolio within ITSO. This is a critical and strategic role responsible for owning, leading, and driving technical strategy and implementations across multiple automation initiatives within the I&O Automation space.

Responsibilities

• •Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
• •Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions
• •Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
• •Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives
• •Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions
• •Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues
• •Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
• •Establish and maintain coding standards and best practices
• •Make informed decisions about technologies, programming languages, and frameworks to use
• •Lead and influence architectural and implementation decisions
• •Foster a collaborative and innovative environment
• •Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• •Assist with task planning and estimations, actively participating in planning and grooming sessions
• •Write, review, and optimize code keeping in mind risk, compliance, and non-functional requirements
• •Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of software
• •Proactively identify and address technical blockers and system improvements
• •Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation

Required Qualifications

• •5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education

Desired Qualifications

• •Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• •Hands-on experience developing microservices using VB.Net/C#, ASP.NET, Angular/React, Java, MS SQL, and MongoDB
• •Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Angular/React
• •Knowledge of AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
• •Experience with ML libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, including building or training models and tuning hyperparameters
• •Experience in Generative AI technologies including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with end-to-end pipelines covering vector databases, chunking, embedding, retrieval, and context injection
• •Deep understanding of microservice-based distributed architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and infrastructure-as-code
• •Strong background in Data Science and Analysis including data processing, cleaning, and statistical techniques; knowledge of Hadoop and Spark
• •Ability to solve complex problems with ambiguous requirements, spot emerging tech trends, and drive proof of concepts or pilot solutions
• •Experience with Agile development strategies, Test Driven Development, and DevOps practices
• •Experience leveraging REST/SOAP Web APIs for integrations
• •Experience with enterprise CICD tooling such as Harness and Jenkins
• •Expertise in enterprise tools like Ansible and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Datadog
• •Experience with incident management tools like ServiceNow
