Overview

Capital One is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in DevOps to join the Technology Operations Center team. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, resiliency, and performance across enterprise systems through Site Reliability Engineering practices. You will design advanced automation, manage cloud-native infrastructure, and deploy modern observability and monitoring tools to proactively solve complex platform challenges at scale.

• •Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems

• •Leverage AI-forward tools and real-time telemetry to drive high-priority incident triage
• •Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go
• •Work with Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes
• •Use configuration management tools including Ansible and Terraform
• •Work with a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications

• •Bachelor's Degree
• •At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (internship experience does not apply)
• •At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• •At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

• •7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience
• •4+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby)
• •4+ years of experience with technologies Apache Mesos, Marathon, or Apache Spark
• •4+ years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker)
• •2+ years of experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch)
• •2+ years of experience with deploying clustered web services
• •2+ years of experience working within Agile Development Practices
• •Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion

Compensation

Plano, TX: $179,400 - $204,700 for Lead Software Engineer. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long term incentives.
