This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing, scaling, and operating distributed systems that power a high-volume global platform processing billions of transactions annually.

What You'll Do
•Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of large-scale distributed software systems
•Design highly available, low-latency services capable of supporting billions of transactions
•Drive platform improvements that increase scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
•Lead architecture reviews and influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams
•Investigate complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability improvements
•Evaluate and implement AI-assisted engineering tools that improve developer productivity and software quality
•Establish engineering standards, development practices, and architectural guidelines
•Mentor senior and mid-level engineers while fostering technical growth across the organization
•Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define technical roadmaps and execution strategies
•Identify delivery risks, remove technical blockers, and guide teams through complex initiatives
•Share knowledge through technical presentations, design reviews, and engineering best practices
•Participate in the operational ownership of production services, including monitoring and incident response
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
•10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production software systems
•Extensive experience designing and delivering distributed systems using Go, Java, Scala, C#, TypeScript, or similar programming languages
•Proven track record leading system architecture and delivering large-scale, high-performance production platforms
•Experience designing software that has been successfully deployed, operated, and scaled in production
•Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes or comparable orchestration technologies
•Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
•Ability to work in a hybrid environment with four days per week onsite
Preferred Qualifications
•Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems and high-performance backend platforms
•Data engineering platforms utilizing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Iceberg, or Trino
•Machine learning infrastructure, MLOps platforms, feature stores, or model deployment pipelines
•Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, incident response, automation, and production operations
•Web platform engineering, SDK development, or modern frontend technologies
•Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity
•Experience leading technical strategy across multiple engineering teams
Compensation and Benefits
•Target Total Compensation: $470,000 - $615,000
•Base Salary: $290,000 - $360,000
