• •TalentReach is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a Contract IT Infrastructure Engineer to help modernize, stabilize, and improve infrastructure and backend systems across multiple platforms.
• •This role will focus on practical engineering execution, including AWS infrastructure improvements, release support, backend modernization, and untangling legacy systems while minimizing disruption to business-critical environments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in real-world production environments and enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges. You will work across cloud infrastructure, release engineering, backend systems, and modernization initiatives while partnering closely with engineers who have deep knowledge of existing platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who can balance immediate operational needs with longer-term modernization efforts and who is comfortable navigating imperfect systems without slowing down the business.

What You'll Do

• •Support AWS infrastructure updates, maintenance, and optimization
• •Assist with release engineering and improve deployment reliability
• •Help modernize legacy backend systems while minimizing business disruption
• •Support the deployment and stabilization of existing applications during modernization efforts
• •Assist with the ongoing separation of frontend and backend architectures
• •Improve APIs and backend services that support modern frontend applications
• •Partner with internal engineers who have deep knowledge of legacy systems
• •Identify and resolve bugs, infrastructure issues, and performance bottlenecks
• •Help clean up outdated or overly complex systems where appropriate
• •Create a stronger technical foundation for future modernization initiatives
• •Contribute practical solutions that improve long-term maintainability

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• •Experience supporting AWS-based applications and cloud infrastructure
• •Experience working on legacy system upgrades or modernization initiatives
• •Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• •Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• •Comfortable operating in complex, real-world production environments
• •Experience supporting infrastructure, release engineering, backend systems, and operational improvements
• •Strong communication and collaboration skills
• •Practical, execution-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience working with monolithic or legacy applications
• •Familiarity with technologies such as PHP, Angular, Java, Ruby on Rails, or similar environments
• •Experience supporting API infrastructure and backend services
• •Experience with deployment automation and release management processes
• •Experience improving system documentation and operational processes
• •Prior startup, growth-stage, or small-team experience
